Lightweight car, powerful engine – the secret of success of the Alfa Romeo Giulia Sedan. This rare vehicle was built between 1962 and 1978 as the successor to the Giulietta model. The high and angular shape of the vehicle was an in-house development of the Italian car manufacturer. The limousine tested in the wind tunnel was considerably roomier than its predecessor. It was also one of the first production vehicles to have a stable safety passenger cell. The basic version was the Giulia TI with 68 kW (91 hp), whereby the designation “TI” referred to the Italian racing limousines. Only 501 units of the weight-reduced TI Super – version with 82 kW (112 PS) were built for private racers. In 1964 a version with a smaller engine and 57 kW (78 hp) – Giulia 1300 – appeared on the market. From the beginning the Giulia Super also sold excellently, taking advantage of the success of the TI Super. There were a total of twelve different versions of the vehicle, including Giulia Nuova Super Diesel or Giulia 1600 S. The charismatic limousine was also used as police vehicle by the Italian carabinieri.
