The Mercedes C43 AMG is a sporty model of the C-Class. The C-Class itself was first introduced in 1993 and has since developed into one of the most successful model series from Mercedes-Benz. The AMG versions are particularly popular and stand for performance and sporty driving. The C43 AMG was first introduced in 1997 as part of the first generation of the C-Class (W202). It was one of the first models to bring the AMG performance philosophy to the C-Class and represented a bridge between the standard C-Class and the more powerful AMG models. The first C43 AMG was equipped with a 4.3-liter V8 engine. This enabled impressive acceleration and sporty handling, which was remarkable for the time. With the introduction of the second generation C-Class (W203) in 2000, the C43 AMG was replaced by the C55 AMG, which had an even more powerful 5.4-liter V8 engine.
