The vehicle offered here is an exceptionally original Citroën DS 21 Pallas from January 1967 with legendary semi-automatic transmission and a mileage of 5,900 kilometers. It is undoubtedly one of the most interesting and sought-after models in the entire DS series.
The 1967 DS 21 uniquely combines the best of two worlds: the elegant, classic front end of the early DS models and the modern technology of the later generation. Of particular significance is the switch to LHM mineral hydraulic fluid, which replaced the problematic synthetic LHS that year – a milestone in DS history.
1967 was also the year in which Citroën confidently advertised:
“You can now buy the world champion’s car from your Citroën dealer!”
With its newly developed 2.1-liter engine, Citroën achieved great success in the Monte Carlo Rally – motorsport history that you can literally feel here.
This vehicle probably came from the first owner, a master butcher from a small village in France. After his death in the early 2000s, the family decided to sell it. A German collector imported the DS to Germany and stored it there carefully and dry for many years. It was not until 2025 that it was re-registered and awakened from its slumber.
The vehicle was recommissioned and repaired by a renowned Citroën specialist workshop with the clear aim of preserving as much of the original substance as possible. Accordingly, numerous charming period features have been retained – from insurance cards in the windshield to individual franc coins in the vehicle.
The original condition is remarkable:
The original leather seats are in excellent condition. The carpet and headliner have been professionally renewed. The dashboard, with its numerous chrome switches and typical light gray shrink wrap, is scratch-free and looks almost like new. The notoriously fragile main wiring harness has been replaced with a faithful reproduction manufactured in Germany.
The body is in excellent condition overall and was probably repainted to a high standard before being imported to Germany. The engine runs smoothly, starts reliably (if you know how) and impresses with its quiet operation. The water pump, ignition and various hydraulic components have already been replaced. The chassis was also extensively repaired during the course of the work. New Michelin tires have of course been fitted.
To rule out any possible damage caused by standing, the vehicle was then test driven for around 5,000 kilometers.
Conclusion
This Citroën DS 21 Pallas is no ordinary classic DS, but a rare opportunity for enthusiasts and collectors: an early, technically significant model in exceptionally original and well-maintained condition, with a traceable history and loving, careful restoration.
A true “goddess” that is now ready to enjoy spring—and many more years to come—in style with its new owner.
