– 1.0 L four-cylinder gasoline engine with 31 kW (42 hp) and 4-speed manual gearbox

– According to information acquired from a lawyer. Owned by the lawyer’s family for 54 years
– After the sale, the Glas S 1004 underwent an extensive restoration
– The self-supporting body was “gutted”, rebuilt and completely painted in the original color “sea green” (Color Code 67).

After agricultural machinery and scooters, the manufacturer GLAS expanded its range to include larger vehicles, after Goggomobil and Glas ISAR. At the beginning of the 1960s, the majority of car buyers were moving into the mid-range car class.
The GLAS 04 model series made its debut in 1961. These vehicles stood out more for their exceptional performance than for their somewhat simple-looking bodywork. Driving performance was more important than extravagant bodywork.
An ultra-modern and sporty four-cylinder in-line engine for the time, with an overhead camshaft driven by a toothed belt in 1000, 1200 or 1300 cc versions, propelled these automotive milestones forward.
There are four body styles: Coupé 2/2 seats (May 1962 to 1965), Sedan 2 doors (January 1963 to the end of 1967), Convertible 2 seats (spring 1963 to 1967), Estate sedan (September 1966 to the end of 1967)
A total of 40,703 cars of this model series were built.
