A beautiful BMW coupé has come back from the US.
Yes, this one has covered a few miles. According to the odometer, the (unwarranted) mileage is 228,697. Nearly all the way to the moon in terms of distance… But the good thing is, it’s hardly showing. The BMW 6 series engines have a reputation for robustness. This one is coupled to a manual 5-speed gearbox.
The outside of this car is really rather presentable, minor scratches and visual impairments notwithstanding. It comes on beautiful Alpina rims, the genuineness of which cannot be vouched for.
The interior of this 635 CSi is in a good shape: leather seats, dashboard and door panels all in black. It also features a sunroof, trip computer, air conditioning and Recaro sport seats.
Overall an attractive classic with potential, which has already got the sought-after H-admission. German technical approval (TÜV) is valid till 02/2017.
Upon its presentation, the design anticipated the styling of the future 7 Series (E23). Inside, there is the driver-related cockpit – a 70s novelty at BMW – with the center console turned slightly towards the driver. Otherwise, the upper-class coupe boasts lush luxury, since the 6 Series was designed for a comfortable ride. And that is not at all contrary to a sporting performance, least of all with the more powerful engines of the 635 CSI.
The 6 Series has the reputation of easy maintenance, and its engines are said to be virtually indestructible. For this reason, this BMW is well placed for a second spring as a classic that is fit for everyday use.
